Komodo dragon which is also known as the komodo monitor. It is the largest living lizard. The largest among komodo lizards reached a length of 10.3 feet and weighed around 166 kg.

Komodo dragon’s average weigh is 70 kgs. Komodo hunting strategy is based on covertness and power. They can spend hours in one place, waiting for a boar, deer, goat, etc. These monitors can see objects as far away as 300 meter.  Their eyes are better at picking up movements.

Komodo retina possesses only cones that help it to distinguish color but have poor vision in dim light. They have smaller hearing range than humans. These animals cannot hear low pitched voice or high pitched scream.

The Komodo dragon has a tail as long as its body with bacterial tongue.  They dig holes that measure from 1-3 m wide for their shelter. Komodo dragons are carnivores and eat any tearing chunks of flesh and swallowing hem whole.

During a research in 2009, researchers concluded that komodo dragons produce venom whose toxins cause their prey to go into a shock and decrease its blood from clotting.  The bacteria present in mouth of Komodo dragon can lead to death of bitten animal.

Lion, renowned for its majesty and possesses power, beauty and strength. Lion is the second largest cat after the tiger.  Lions live for 10 to 14 years. They have golden yellow fur and the adult male lions have manes that range in color from blond to reddish black.

A lion can run for short distances at 50mph and leap as far as 36 feet. A lion roar can be heard from as far as 5 miles.  Male lions defend the prides territory while females do most of the hunting. Despite this, males eat first. When males join a pride, they usually kill other cubs.

Lions can go four days without drinking. Their gestation period is about 110 days.  The average lifespan of a lion is about 13 years.

Who will win the fight- In a fight between these two species, the lion would win. This is because; lion is much stronger than Komodo dragon. Lion is twice the size of a komodo dragon and even more agile than a komodo dragon. Lion is much stronger than a komodo dragon, with larger teeth, stronger jaws, and razor sharp claws.

It would tear lizard into pieces. However, if Komodo dragon managed to bite the lion, then the lion would die from infection. Though physically lion is stronger than the Komodo dragon, but the poisonous venom in the bite of komodo dragon would kill the lion later on.
