Squid vs octopus fight- who will win?

Are you confused with Squid and Octopus and want to compare Octopus vs squid. So, go further to know Squid vs octopus fight comparison- who will win? Release the Kraken! Most of you people would be aware of this creature that is believed to be a myth. Many of you even must have enjoyed its animated version in movie like Pirates of Caribbean. However there are still confusions on whether this mythical creature is a gigantic squid or a giant tentacular octopus.

Whatsoever, these two creatures are amongst the jewels of the aquatic creatures. These creatures are purely aquatic mostly dwelling in the darks of the ocean. These two magnificent creatures are amongst the most cunning and fine predators as well.

Having almost similar kind of features these two creatures are the wonders of the saline water. Although some people (like me) might agree that these are also one of the most deadliest and terrible looking creatures giving you goose-bumps at the mere sight of it, the bulky mass of muscle as head and the terrifying numerous tentacles, some find it really fascinating.

And octopus is also considered amongst one of the most intelligent living creatures after human beings. So when these two creatures are all set on the battle ground it gets real nasty and ugly out there. Although being able to see or picture something like that is amazing.

A squid is a mollusk but without any shell covering them, rather they have one inside them called apen. Squids have 10 arms, two of which are longer than the other eight called tentacles. And their sizes vary from an inch to more than 60 feet in length.

These creatures are very fast swimmers and use a kind of jet propulsion to move with a wonderful ability to aim the water in any direction. Squid have good eyesight and may even be able to see in color and a sharp beak on their mouths that they use to break open shells which add up to their advantage.

Some even have amazing unique features like ability to change color. There are some which use bioluminescence to create light and shoot ink to cloud the water and lose predators and usually prefer being in groups.

Whereas on the other end of the battle, the Octopus has no shell and unlike squids these prefer being solitary. They have eight tentacles featured with suction cups to grab their prey equipped with taste sensors to ensure that the thing that they are holding onto is worth eating.

Like squids these also have sharp beaks and some can shoot ink and change colors. But to its added advantage this creature being without a shell can squeeze into very small spaces. And some of them can injure or kill their prey by poisoning them injecting a toxic substance.

But when pictured in a fight both of them have some trick up their sleeve. Like in case of octopus, this is highly agile and known for short bursts of speed with their inbuilt "jet-propulsion" system. But squids are faster comparatively and an evasive ability that the octopus might find difficulty keeping up.

Then the squids are equipped with hard, keratinous "rings" around their "suckers," those of which are often serrated making the escape of the prey a pretty difficult task to go away without getting severely injured or killed.

This feature is not found in octopus; however they do and can apply pounds of suction creating tremendous pressure per sucker disk. But if it really needs it bad and somehow manages to the sea floor and catches the squid really quick and fast then the squid might not stand a chance.

So both of these have a plus point but the biggest advantage lies with the squid and that is its behavior of remaining in groups. Although witnessing a fight between these two magnificent creatures is a breathtaking sight indeed.

I hope article would you understanding difference and comparison of squid vs octopus.
